My condolences to the Spitzer family and to all of Suzanne’s friends. We are better for having known her and we were privileged to have her in our lives.

Susanne Pelly Spitzer, faithful cherished friend since 1972. In half a century, Susanne had my back for everything from the sublime to the ridiculous, from idiot mitten clips for my gloves in Minnesota, to cat sitting, stain removal, and threats on my life. Warm-hearted, warrior in righteous causes, a woman of valor, she is already sorely missed. All my heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends does not seem like enough. Not people die, wrote Yevtushenko, but worlds die in them.

I am so sorry to hear about Susanne. She was my former coworker and a good friend for many years. We always shared thoughts and discussed many things including family and children. She was always supportive and gave me suggestions how to cope with my own loss. She introduced me to new food and music from her culture. I am thankful to her for all the things she did for me. She will be missed! I wish the family all the best!!

I will miss Susanne. Conversations with her were always so interesting. She was always supportive and caring. We shared the experience of growing up in the New York City area. Who else of my friends could sing the “Palisades Amusement Park” jingle with me?

I celebrate Susanne’s zest for life and her willingness to try new adventures at any time. I will miss her humor, her caring heart and her friendship more than I can say. Rest in peace, dear Friend.
