Dear Pascetta-Ullmann Family,
I remember Tom from “Spinning Class” at the JCC. He was always kind to me, smiling, and happy to be with us there. Even though you don’t know me and my husband, we are sending our deepest sympathy to all of you. We hope you know that our community will never forget him and his devotion to family, friends and the law. We especially enjoyed reading the editorial written by Randall Beach in the Friday, April 20th New Haven Register as it captured Tom’s (Tommy’s) true nature and selfless devotion to his community. Sending prayers to all of you, Georgia and Jim Morgan, Woodbridge, CT

Dear Ullmann Family: Tom and I first met each other, randomly, about 30 years ago (I don’t even remember how), and we kept up that pace of randomly bumping into each other over the years. How lucky I have been to have spent those times with Tom! We had a lot in common, and talked easily with each other: both of us lawyers, both of us runners, both of us sports fans, many friends and colleagues in common, both of us committed to justice for those who don’t come by justice easily. Most recently, my times with Tom have been at the JCC, in the exercise room or the locker room. I loved seeing him. I’ve put Tom’s picture in a drawer in my office that has nothing in it but nice things people have said over the years. I open that drawer to get a smile at times when I need a smile. I look at Tom with that unusual beard, suspenders tucked out, and broad grin on his face, and I instantly smile. Your loss is profound, I know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Diana and Family, we all loved Tommy and his parting with this accident has us all broken hearted. I am here for you all in whatever little way I can be of service. With Peace and love and life living on forever and ever. Reverend Paul Sladkus

I share this peace poem with all

Prayer of Saint Francis
Song by Sarah McLachlan
Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life
Amen and I add AWOMAN

We would like to send our deepest sympathies on the loss of your husband and father. Tom was a fraternity brother to my husband at Quinnipiac College (University). Just a wonderful friend and great guy to have known him through college life. Are thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I did not know Tom personally, but I feel I almost did having associated with his remarkable wife, Diana. I’d like to send my deepest sympathies to her and their children for this great loss.

What a loss – not just to all of us who knew Tommy, but to the countless people who didn’t know him, who reaped the benefits of his tireless work to make this world a better and more just place to live. Tommy was a model of a life well lived. He squeezed more fun out of life than just about anyone I ever met. And his love for his wonderful family, Diana, Jesse and Erik, was obvious to anyone who knew him. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with him. He made all of us better people. Rest In Peace Tom – and my deepest sympathies to your beautiful family.
