Service for:
Rachelle Dube, 85 Rachelle left us unexpectedly on Saturday February 8 following complications from by-pass surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was 85 years old and looking forward to her recovery. The only child of the late Honorable Norman M. and Anne G. Dube, she was the center of attention in their pastoral New Milford home. She never tired in relating stories of large family gatherings or of neighbors stopping by to watch the family’s television set (the first one in this small bucolic community); only some of the dozens of stories that she would readily share with her children and their children (and anyone else who was in earshot). Rachelle (or Rishie as she was called by close family members) was a doting daughter for all the years she was blessed to have her parents by her side, a mother to four, close with many cousins, and a dear friend to many more. She was unfailingly affable. She is survived by a daughter and three sons and their wives: Joy Cangelosi of Middlebury, CT, Harry Levenstein and Laurie Colvin of Simsbury, CT, Seth and Beth Levenstein of Newmarket, NH and Alan and Kelly Levenstein of Chesapeake, VA, 10 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 5 great granddaughters and a great grandson. A funeral service will be held Wednesday February 12 at 11:00 AM at Shure Funeral Home, New Haven, CT followed immediately by burial at United Jewish Cemetery, Danbury, CT. No flowers please. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Rachelle, please contact the American Heart Association on-line at www.heart.org or by phone 1-800-AHA-USA1.

We want to extend our deepest sympathies in the loss of your loved one. May God comfort you in this time of grief. We’ve know Rachelle over 30 years. When Alan married our daughter Kelly we were introduced. We enjoyed talking about Mark & David. We were proud grandparents. I miss hearing from her. We texted several times a week. She was so much Fun. I’ll never forget visiting her. I felt so welcome. We enjoyed visiting her favorite store and meeting her friends. I know her family and friends will always miss her. Cherish the memories & good times you had together. May God bless you.
