I have been waiting to say something to you both because I had and still have no words.

I didn’t know Nicholas very well, only by what you both have told me about him. And the few times i had the pleasure of seeing him. I have learned from you both especially Meredith because we talk all the time, on how to be a patient, supportive and an understanding parent when times get tuff. Most valuable lesson is when times are tuff we are not alone and no family is perfect. Through good times and bad you both have been wonderful parents to both your boys.

I will remember the time Nicholas and Silas meet on the train accidentally, started talking and realized that their moms are the BFF’s that work at HealthPlanOne,LLC. Meredith had to give Silas a ride home because I got stuck at the doctors office. For some reason they found each other that day, it was meant to be.

I also, think about how sweet and kind Nicholas’ was to his family. Just one example, Meredith was hoping he would stay with her when David went to CA, but wouldn’t ask. Without asking he stayed with her all week.

There are many more stories you have shared with me and they make me smile. I hope you find comfort in all the quality time spent together as a family recently.

I found this on line and want to share it with you.

One of the most tragic and traumatic losses life can deal out to a person is the death of a son. The death of a son means the loss of more than just a precious life. It represents the loss of future experiences and future hopes. No parent is prepared for the loss of a child, and when it happens, their world is changed forever. The grief, guilt, and anguish felt are acute and lasting. Parents can find comfort in knowing that their grief and mourning are normal and that many other parents have lived through similar tragedies

Joe, Silas and I are here for you both always.

Dear Nick’s Father, Mother, Brother and Family,

I am devastated to hear about Nick’s passing. Every time I think about Nick all I can do is smile. It feels like I have endless fond memories and experiences with Nick. He was a dear friend and I think about the countless times I catch myself quoting him even to this day. He was a truly unique and beautiful soul and will be missed. Nick has left a lasting impression on my life and I know a part of his legacy will live on through me.

My deepest condolences,
Jeremy Gaskins

Dear Nick’s Mother, Father, Brother and Family,

I am deeply saddened to hear about Nick’s passing. He was a remarkable man, a close friend and someone I knew I could always count on. Nick never failed to brighten up any room, nor was there any shortage of laughter. I like many others are lucky enough to know Nick and will cherish our wonderful memories forever.

With blessings and prayers,
Eric Shelly

To Nick’s Mother, Father, and Family:

I am sorry to hear of his passing. Nick was a special man, and a dear friend, with an incredible acumen for everything he did. There are many wonderful memories, and incredible lessons, that myself and many others have from our time with Nick. We will carry these with us as a legacy of the great man Nick was.
