Dear Sam-
I was your father’s first cousin: my dad was Harry Tichnor, your grandmother’s brother.
The last time that I saw your Dad was at your Bar Mitzvah. I will always remember your Dad as a bright and caring person. He was so proud of you and loved being a father. The eulogy you gave today captured the essence of who your Dad was. It is never easy to lose a parent. May you find comfort in a wealth of beautiful memories that you shared with your Dad. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.

Dear Sam,
I’m so sorry to hear of Michael’s passing.
Your mother Barbara was my cousin and I have very fond memories of spending time with your parents in New Haven – in the kitchen & on the boat. They were such special people.
Dear Rochelle,
Although we’ve never met, I’m so glad Michael had your support & good company.

May you both have a long and healthy life.

My dear Sam,
I am so sorry to hear this news. I so clearly recall spending Pesach together at Linda’s house, and your trips to the car shows; did you ever get a chance to drive a Hummer?
I hope you are doing well.

Dear Rochelle,
We have never met; Barbara was my cousin. I am glad to hear that Michael spent his last days with good company, and I am sorry for your loss.

The sun will come up tomorrow, I promise.

All the best,

Dear Sam and Rochelle,
We are so sad to learn of Michael’s death. He was smart and kind and funny. It was always enjoyable to have discussions with him and we often learned things from those discussions. It was so nice that Sam was close and Rochelle we have enjoyed having you as part of our shabbat group and hope you will continue. Hamakom yenachem etchem b’toch sha’ar avlai zion v’yerushalaim.

Dearest Sam and Rochelle, We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. After almost 30 years, we have seen him go through many challenges and still try to be the rock for all. His pride, intellect and wit got him through so much, but his heart always allowed him to find the good often through his religion. His pride and love for Sam was known through the neighborhood as we often heard him shout his name. He never wanted Sam to worry about him, even when he needed it most he said he would be ok. Sam you have been a man since 13 and you really have stepped up to be the son your Dad could be proud to call his own. He knew how much you cared and were always there for him…at any hour in any situation you never hesitated to be by his side. I know it was mutual. Rochelle, as tough as Mike tried to be we all saw his heart when he proudly told us all how he was getting married. I know this past year has been one that meant the world to him having you by his side as well as him being by yours. I still remember the day he said he was picking up the dog at the airport…that was great! Paul and Jenny…I know that having you both in Sam, Rochelle and his life has brought him comfort and peace to focus on his health and future with a sense of hope. Please be there for each other and know that anything you need we will always be here or a phone call away.
With all our love and prayers, He will be missed!
