Dear Scheps Family,

We were neighbors for nearly five years and grew to love Lou. He had a warm heart, was a great listener and was so proud of his loving family. Memories of Lou sitting in his garage viewing the neighborhood, while puffing on a cigar, led to wonderful conversation. Then there were the poker games where often we would pick him up so we could convince him to lose. (He never cooperated to that end.) Our hearts feel his absence.

Lou will be missed and remembered by many of us at Riverwalk.

Dear Amy and Adam — Elizabeth, grandkids and Barbara.,
We are in Florida and heartbroken that we couldn’t be there…..we tried to find phone number to call you, and failed. So this is the way we must share our thoughts and sympathy until we get home (if that happens!) We met Lou and Enid through the Mr. and Mrs. Club and a friendship was born. We had dinners, conversations, they were part of our simchas and we part of theirs. At Rosh Hashana open houses, we were part of the lucky ones invited to stay later for soups and breads. Our relationship with the Scheps family ran deep — Adam and Bert; Laura and Amy — Enid and Lou. They are together now on the next Scheps journey, I hope by sea…..you all have our love….and we have the memories.

Dear Adam, Amy and Sheps family,
We are profoundly saddened to learn the news about Lou’s passing. Offering you our deepest condolences. Regretably, distance (Dave & Irma) and Covid has kept us at bay but he is in our thoughts and memories. Lou was part of the neighborhood family, becoming extended family. We all grew up together, gaining wisdom and buoyancy mixed with fun over time. He had a great sense of humor and loved sharing and discussing ideas. He made a good time great. Both Lou and Enid were valued friends of my parents. Dave and Irma especially, will miss him dearly. I, (Suzan), enjoyed a lovely time with Lou over a holiday meal last year. He remained vital and optimistic in part for all of you. Sending healing thoughts and love your way.

Gladys and I wish to offer our condolences to the Scheps family. It’s a sad day for us being so far away and not being able to be there. He was a good friend and we will miss him. The good that comes out of death that he is reunited with his loved ones who predeceased him.
We send our love to his family

Dear Adam, Amy and Family,
Our deepest thoughts are with you all. Hearing this news was so sad. Both me and my boys loved sitting with your Dad (and Mom) talking Engineering, teaching and life itself. He was so incredibly proud of his grandchildren and loved to share their exploits and adventures. Also, Lou was the last connection I had with my Dad, the two having worked together many years back and telling me heartwarming stories of the times they had as young engineers and tool designers.
Lou was a true gentleman and I truly enjoyed his company.
Please know that my boys and I are keeping him in our kindest thoughts.
Jim Noel and Family.

Dear Adam, Amy and Family,

I am deeply saddened and so so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad, Grandfather and Brother. Lou was a great guy, good friend and gentleman. I will always remember the fond memories with Lou and Enid at the Yacht Club. I was glad to have seen him at the Cigar Club in Branford a few weeks ago. He seemed to have a great time with the group of members that assembled to meet with him there. Again my deepest and sincere sympathy. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Most Sincerely,
Tony Moscato
