I will always remember “Mr. Kaplan” as my neighbor with the infectious smile. Growing up on Sebec Street was a gift that included wonderful neighbors.

I mowed the Kaplan lawn when I was a student at Spring Glen School. Mr. Kaplan was always joyful and supportive of me. I am now 67 years old, and the Kaplans continue to be inspirational in supporting the welfare of my mother.

Mr. Kaplan and family are amoungst the finest people I ever known.

My memories of him are blessings that I will always cherish.

Sent with infinite love, humility, and respect.

What can you say about Sy that hasn’t been said already? He welcomed us so graciously when we became temple members 39 years ago. From our common background in automotive products to our love for TBS as well as the Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Mets, he was a constant friend and will be sorely missed. Deepest condolences to Eta and the family.

Dear Eta, Robyn, Michelle, Seth-
Our heartfelt sympathy to you and your extended family on the loss of Sy. We admired him as the core of TBS. His commitment and service to the shul and congregation was matched in its magnitude by his beloved Eta. Sy’s personality, sense of humor, caring for one and all, and boundless energy could have earned him the title of “TBS’s Mayor.” We all greatly will miss Sy.

Eta, may you and your family be comforted among the mourners of Jerusalem and Israel.
May Hashem grant you the strength to weather the sorrow of Sy’s loss.
May your memories of Sy be blessings for you and your loved ones.
May Sy rest in eternal peace among the patriarchs and matriarchs of Israel.

In the words of the Aaronic Blessing:
May Hashem bless you, and keep you.
May Hashem make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you.
May Hashem lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

With much love to you and your family,
Leah and Moss Stambler

Dear Eta,

I was so very sorry to read the TBS announcement of Sy’s death. As I think about Sy, I am struck by the fact that is hard for me to do so without thinking about the other half of the team – namely yourself. I am quite sure that having you by his side enabled him to get the most out of this past, challenging year.

My condolences to the rest of your family.
