Dear Reiter Family – I also didn’t see Howie after high school, but one nice anecdote: in 7th grade at Hopkins, all students taking Track & Field had to try each event to scope out talent. In the one mile run, 13-year-old Howie ran 6:35, more than 30 seconds ahead of any other student. It seemed he had a joyful natural athletic ability, and I hope he enjoyed sports throughout his life. May he rest in peace. – Jim D’Angelo

Jody,
Though I never met Howard I feel through yourself and Ida that I felt the love that the two of you felt over the years. He represented the best that American Judaism can attain. He was cut down in the prime of his life. I was so proud of the both of you argueing in the Supreme Court and winning your case. May you always find peace when you remember his face, his voice and his smile. Our love to you and your family.
