Gary was a treasure who generously graced our community with music and with humor. Suddenly it is silent. We were visiting him in the hospital once when a young music student who was going from room to room playing a violin to cheer patients happened to stop and in his room and ask if it was ok to play. Gary nodded, then listened politely as the young man did a credible job with some short pieces. At the conclusion, Gary smiled and proceeded to gently correct the violinist. The young student left, startled but obviously enlightened.

Gary was a high school class mate. He was musically talented and I always enjoyed meeting him, especially when he played the piano at places like the Veterans Hospital in West Haven and other places like Smilow Cancer center and at Towers living facility in New Haven. He always came to our high school reunions. My condolences to Reeva.

May you be comforted among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim. He brought so many happiness through his music. He surely will be missed.
