We are so sad to hear of Floyd’s passing. It is a shock to all in his Charlestown neighborhood. It was a pleasure to have been neighbors with Floyd. We will miss watching him hard at work on the summer home, enjoying the beach with his children and grandchildren or running with his track team. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear David, Todd, Jenn and families,
I was deeply saddened upon hearing of Floyd’s passing. I, along with hundreds of others, worked with Floyd at Sikorsky for many years. He was always a pleasure to be with, regardless of the topic or the all too familiar constraints and demands we faced. He always spoke so proudly of you, his children, and of your accomplishments. He was a good friend and a good man. May his memories give you comfort.

Floyd will be greatly missed. He truely lived his life according to his beliefs. Floyd raised three wonderful children, he assisted in enriching the lives of all his kids at school, and he always had a smile for friends. Now he lives with his Creator. God bless you Floyd.

David and family,

I’m so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your father. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, but it was obvious he was a loving, warm, kind exceptional man that loved you and his family immensely. I hope the love you share with him and all the love you in your life bring you comfort during this extremely difficult time. I wish I could give you sage advice that I gained from the loss of my father, but my words fail me, and grief is so individual. My experience was and continues to be tempered with gratitude, not everyone is fortunate to have loving and supportive fathers like ours. I wish I could join Carlos and pay my respects in person, but unfortunately I am unable to get someone to cover me at the hospital. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything we can do to make this difficult transition you are going through easier, please let us know.

Dear Parness Family,
I am a former NBHS main office secretary and remember very Floyd fondly. He always had a warm smile and took the time to exchange pleasantries. What I remember most was his love and dedication to his athletes. As all of us, I am still in the shock of his sudden passing, but God felt it was time to call him home to be with loved ones that have gone before him. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the athletes he mentored. He will be deeply missed. I send you prayers of comfort and strength during this difficult time.

I knew Floyd as a fellow track coach. I could always count on Floyd’s warm smile and friendly conversations during meets. Floyd was a very caring and dedicated coach. He will be sorely missed by his athletes and fellow coaches. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
