Bart and Karen, our deepest condolences to you and your family. Your mom and dad were so important me growing up. Ellen was such an amazing support to us. She and David will forever hold a special place in my heart. She was one of the funniest, most thoughtful, loving and caring woman. She loved you both and her grandchildren so much. Always was so proud of all of you. She will be deeply missed by us all. Much love.. Valerie, David, Daniel and Drew Lemel

Dear Karen, Stuart, Bart, Beth, and Kids,
We met in September of 1957 and have been close close friends ever since. We borrowed each other’s clothes, shared our deepest secrets with one another, she was always on my side, we finished each other’s sentences …..we were sympatico and connected no matter how much time passed between actual visits with one another. Your Mom/grandmother was genuine..no pretense, no airs, she told it like it was….sensible, practical, compassionate, insightful, smart, talented, a problem solver, a realist, an advocate coupled with a positive approach to life. It was a privilege to be her friend, She had our backs…and your Dad’s and YOURS. I am heartbroken, but I know we won’t ever be without her. She will always be present, I will always hear her voice and her laugh!!! I loved her dearly and wish I could be with you as you lay her to rest beside her David..They were strong and good together! They loved each and every one of you completely and unconditionally.
I mourn with you and send love..

To the “Sheriff” and “Deputy” I’m not telling you anything new when I tell you what a marvelous person your mother was. My wife and I have fond memories of great times with your mom and dad going back to high school. I relocated to Florida over 40 years ago but would return to Westbrook CT every summer. One of the things I would look forward to, before she moved to be close to you, was our anual phone conversation where we would talk about old memories. Your mother was very proud of both your accomplishments and loved your families.

Dear Bart ,Karen and Family,
We are so sorry to hear ,fromBunny ,about our dear friend Ellen’s death.
For many years,5 of us gathered for a Wednesday lunch date at the diner.
It was the perfect time to hear about each one’s family, reflect on the current news, and simply to enjoy one another’s company. I missed her when she left our area, but happy she would be closer to her children when she moved.
Mal and I extend our deepest sympathies. My memories of the good times we shared give me comfort..I hope yours eases the pain and sustains u at this time.

Bart and Karen, it is with such heavy hearts that we, all the Schnipper girls, process this news along with you today. Your mom had a meaningful presence in all our lives, as far back as we can all remember. She was top shelf – smart, strong and so loyal. We all loved her. We hope she is breaking bread with David tonight. Our hearts are with you, xoxo.
