Herb, Peter, and Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of Edna, Wife and Mother. I feel your loss. May her memory be a blessing. I would like to make a contribution to The Towers in her memory. Let me know if that would be OK. Here is a poem that I wrote upon the passing of my Mother, Rita Spiewak, in 1984, due to Cancer.
“You stood beside her, hanging on, as if to make her stay.
But Death prevailed, and she was gone, slipped peacefully away.
You gathered at the bedside, the vital family kin.
The absence of a silent voice reverberated above the din.
The body is a fragile thing, just with us for a time.
The spirit lives eternally in loved ones’ hearts and minds.”

Dear Herb, I was so sorry to hear of Edna’s passing. I have so many found memories of working for the both of you for 18 years. Watching your family grow up was one of them.
Also when Edna would be all dressed up when I came in to go out for a walk or play tennis with her friends.
She always hosted great parties and holidays. She was all about the details every thing had to be just right the flowers, candles etc.
God Bless you and your family,
Marie Savoyski

Herb, Matt and Peter-
Edna was a great stabilizing comfort to me growing up. Whether at the Club, babysitting or on outings with you all, Edna always made me feel good with her humor, directness and support.
Thank you for sharing her!

Lulu shares my condolences to the Newman family.
Pete, your mom was without a doubt in the “greatest moms” category among us crazy kids/Laurelwood waiters and tennis players. What an absolute delight! You and Matt were quite fortunate and Herb was certainly blessed. Our prayers are with you and the grandchildren.
Lovingly, Howard Weinberg

Dear Newman family,
Very sorry to hear of Edna’s passing. I remember fondly the days many years ago when I played tennis with Herb and spent some time with Edna. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Newman family:
My sincere condolences on your loss.
Matthew and I went through the Woodbridge school system together and I have sweet memories of Mrs. Newman supporting us as we went on our many adventures as kids.
May her memory be for a blessing and may G-d comfort you during this time.
Dr. Jennifer Botwick
