Dear Rose, Lizzie, Lewis and Adam,
We want to extend our sincerest condolences to all of you. Ed was very much loved by all of our family. He was not only an excellent pediatrician (in fact our new born daughter,Jessica, was one of his FIRST patients), but also a trusted friend and confidant who stood by our family in good and not so good times alike. We will treasure his memory in our hearts always. Sincerely, The D’Auria Family
Lou, Sandi, Jessica, Nichole & Jared

It has been so many years since I last saw Ed, but I am so saddened to learn of his passing. Because both of our last names began with G I remember sitting in front of him in home room and other classes. He was such a great guy and always made me laugh. It is no surprise to read how accomplished and loved he is by so many. My sympathies to all the family.

To the family of Dr Ed Gleich
I am so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. In the years that I knew him, he was always very affable with a smile on his face & a twinkle in his eye.
I first met Ed when he joined the staff of YNHH Newborn Special Care Unit as a fellow. In that capacity he was always approachable and even tempered with quick solutions to problems. He considered not only the babies but also the parents. And this consideration continued with him in his private practice. I remember him talking about making plans to open the practice in Madison: how he called Dr Sklaire to discuss opening a practice that would not infringe on Dr Sklaire’s practice as it would be in North Madison (how many people would do that?), his excitement at getting some chairs from Yankee stadium and all the nurses in the Newborn unit who lived on the shoreline were excited to be able to have him for a pediatrician. I especially remember that he took one of the best Newborn nurses and a friend, Mimi with him.
When I would run into Ed around town he would always stop and talk for a while. By coincidence, while school nurse at Ryerson, I answered an ad for a substitute office nurse & come to find out that was at SPAM! It was great to spend summers working with Ed again.
He led a full life and had an impact on many, many people who will all remember him fondly. He will be missed by all I’m sure but not as much as you, his family. I know that he loved you all and always spoke of you with pride and love.
My sincere condolences to his family who have lost a wonderful man who is irreplaceable.

Dear Rose and family,
My heart goes out to you all. Ed was my daughter Holly and son Daniel’s pediatrician and I worked for him for a short time part time. It broke my heart when I took another job that was full time and had to leave. He was the best boss that I have ever known. He was the kindest person and always caring about everyone. When our son passed tragically, he arrived at our house very unexpectedly and we will always remember that. He went above and beyond the job of doctor and boss. My family and I are thinking of you all and we hope your faith can help you at this extremely difficult time.

Dr. Ryan Loss, Chair of the Board of Directors, Camp Laurelwood

Dr. Gleich was a significant part of the Camp Laurelwood community and we as a Board and larger camp community are sad to hear of his passing. Many past campers have shared great memories of their interactions with Dr. Gleich over the years. Sending our love to you all. May his memory be a blessing.

I was one of Dr. Gleich’s first patients. I remember my first visit walking into his office, everything covered in sheetrock dust and plastic sheets hanging everywhere. My 3 children were fortunate to have him as their pediatrician as well. Dr. Gleich was a wonderful person and one that will never be forgotten. To his family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

My older daughter was one of Dr. Gleich’s first Madison patients. He also diagnosed her Lyme disease early when it was first appearing in CT and was relatively unknown, saving her from permanent disabilities that many others suffered due to misdiagnoses at the time. Both my daughters continued to be his patients well into their early 20’s when they reluctantly moved on from their beloved pediatrician to general practioners for adults.
He provided loving and lasting care for his little “Peachies and Peanuts”.
Thank you, Dr. Gleich. Rest peacefully.

I am so sad reading this. He was a great Dr. to my daughters ( born 1996 and 1997) and gave me much comfort when they were newborns. He was a great man, had a great smile and I thought of him often. I know he was loved by many. I am so sorry.

Dear Rose, Lizzie, Adam, and Louie,
Cheryl and I are so saddened at the loss of our dear, dear friend, Ed. Our hearts grieve with you at this terrible time of loss. Ed was not only our dear friend, but as with so many of his friends he was Ann and Erica’s doctor. Through sickness and health, and some other “crazy” mishaps at Camp Laurelwood, he was always there for them as well.
We will miss his sly grin, his great one liners, his trusted advice, and most of all, his friendship. Our prayers are with you at this difficult time, and our thoughts are with you always.
With love and respect,
Cheryl & Elwin

Rose,Lew, Lizzie,and Adam,

Eddie was the epitome of a good friend, wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His smiling was infectious and his treatment of others was aspirational. Eddie you will always be thought of as our mensch and you have always been all that is good, loving, and loyal.
You are missed.
Love,
Paul and Sandra
