To my doctor and my friend, you saved my life many times over just a few years, and kept me fighting through the hardest period of my life yet. I miss you and always will, and keep in my heart your story of the lions paw print behind your tent when visiting your daughter and family in the wild. May your journey always continue with such adventure and wonder. A kinder and more considerate human i have never met. Your friend Don Fields

Dear Dot, Bekka and Adam. We have been sitting on a wild Chilean beach by the southern Pacific Ocean fondly remembering David as the kindest, warmest friend. His smile literally lit up the room and he always seemed delighted to see us and indeed everyone he met. We have rarely known a better person. We remember the beautiful boat ride at your wedding in soft sunshine, we remember Dot singing Summertime at ours, we remember skiing together in Italy, visiting when Bekka and Adam were little. Our hearts go out to you now as we remember the best of men and the most generous of friends. With love. Andy and Clare

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. I admired David for his strength of character and his faith. I will continue to be inspired by the actions he took and the things he said while he was alive. He will live in my memories.
May he Rest In Peace

My sincerest condolences. I am truly heartbroken for you Dorothy, Bekka, and Adam. He was one of a kind and larger than life. Never a more generous, compassionate, passionate, intelligent, humorous, and genuine human being have I ever met. The list could go on! I will hold him and all he taught me in my memories forever. Though I’m saddened I can’t be there for the services, I am comforted in knowing he was very excited for me in my newest adventures. Love, prayers, and virtual hugs to the whole family.

I was extremely shocked and sadden to receive the announcement of Dr. Ross-Russell’s illness last week. I was unable attend this past Saturday’s celebration of his life, so words can not truly express the loss I feel upon learning of his death.
Dr. Russell was my primary care giver since 1993. I found him to be an excellent doctor along with being a very caring person.
Most of all I trusted him with my health along with my children’s health. He took great care of us.
I will miss him as my doctor but also as a friend who’s observations on life I found to be extremely valuable.
We all lose friends and family in our lifetime. This one feels like I lost a member of my family.
I send my condolences and sympathies to his family and friends. He will be truly missed.
